How to Prepare Post-Storm Debris
Guidelines for post-storm debris differ from regular yard debris.
You can make our job easier by combining piles with your neighbors. Fewer piles = faster pickup. To help ensure a quicker collection. Large amounts of debris do not need to be binned, bagged, or bundled like normal yard waste.

CURBSIDE GUIDELINES:
Gather debris (branches, tree trunks, limbs, etc.) Keep storm debris separate from your regular household garbage and recycling. NO BAGS

Ensure that the piles are kept off streets, sidewalks, and storm drains and are positioned away from parked cars, fire hydrants, mailboxes, power lines, storm drains, or other structures.

If possible, cut branches and logs into 4-foot sections.

Try to combine your pile with your neighbor’s to create larger piles and expedite collection.

Avoid using plastic bags for vegetative debris. Instead, use bins, paper bags, bundles, or nothing at all. Pile your debris at the curbside.

SCHEDULE:
Please be patient—a schedule is not available for debris trucks with grapples/claws to pick up piles. Once they begin, we will collect as much as possible during working hours. Please keep in mind that it may take several weeks for your pile to be collected. We appreciate your patience!

Hurricane Milton Impact on Baytree

10/11/24: Baytree Clean up from Hurricane Milton

As you are well aware by now, hurricane Milton left its mark on our community.  Fortunately, most of the damage was to our landscaping and our homes are secure.  Your Landscape Committee and HOA Board continue to evaluate the damage and to make cleanup arrangements.

 1)    The City of Tavares has been notified about the uprooted and damaged trees on city property that they have responsibility to clean up.  The trees that were down on our streets have been cleared.  The sidewalks and streets in Baytree belong to the city, as do the trees on the strip of land between the sidewalks and the street. HOWEVER, the city says that the trees on the strip of land between the sidewalks and the street are the homeowner’s responsibility.  Homeowners may appeal.

2)    Our contract with CEPRA does NOT include hurricane cleanup.  However, CEPRA is in the community today with 2 crews who will be working on gathering as many of the broken limbs and other debris as they can and placing them at the curb for the city to pick up.  We do not know how long this will take.  CEPRA covers other communities in addition to our Baytree community, so they will work with us as they are able.  We are grateful to see them helping us today.

3)    October is the contracted time for CEPRA to begin mowing every other week rather than every week.  Due to the debris, our lawns may grow taller than we are used to seeing.  Please be patient and consider the circumstances.  Everyone is doing the best that they can.

4)    For the larger trees and limbs that are down on common property, we will be working with our two tree companies to schedule work as they have time available for us.  Remember, many communities were much more impacted by the storm than we were. 

If you cannot help in the cleanup of your property, we totally understand.  Eventually either CEPRA or a helpful neighbor will place the debris from your yard at the curb for the city pickup.  We will address the debris and damage on the Greenspace as time, labor, and funds permit.

10/10/24: Hurricane Milton Impact on Baytree

Following Hurricane Milton, Baytree has sustained some damage, especially broken and twisted limbs and uprooted trees.  However, we are all safe and thankful that it wasn’t worse.  Power was off for most of the community from about 2:00am until 10:00am this morning.  Members of the HOA Board have assessed much of the damage and have been in touch with the city regarding trees in the street.  Also, CEPRA has ridden the property.  It will take some time, but many in the neighborhood are already busy with cleanup.

Everyone’s help is appreciated, and it would be great if those of you who are able could check on your neighbors to see if they need anything.  Everyone please be safe as we work on the cleanup.  You may address any concerns regarding the storm impact to your Board members. Normal landscape issues can be emailed as usual to CEPRA, but please be patient since CEPRA works in many communities which may have been more impacted than we have been. 

QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS MAY BE DIRECTED TO ANY HOA BOARD MEMBER. 

The pool will be CLOSED until further notice.  The pool must be cleaned before it can be used.  You will be notified when the pool is re-opened.
